Birthday Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend with two birthday party's. The family was wiped out. I had to come up with two simple cards. The first party we went to was pirate themed. I pulled out my Sock Monkey set and decided he'd make a pretty cute pirate.
Stamp: Sock Monkey and On Your Birthday
Ink: Black
Paper: Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, To The Nines DSP and Whisper White
Accessories: Metal Edge Tag and Paper Piercing Tool

The second birthday was for a 10 year old boy. He is a star baseball player and I thought stars would be perfect. On his birthday he hit his first home run over the fence, it brought tears to his mothers eyes. Sorry for the picture quality on this one, I think my camera is starting to fail me.

Stamp: Party Hearty
Ink: Brilliant Blue
Paper: Ruby Red, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Green Galore, Brocade Blue, Only Orange, Glorious Green So Saffron DSP and Whisper White
Punches: Word Window and Modern Label
Die Cuts: Alphabet Simple Numbers and Stars #2
Accessories: Real Red corduroy button and Twine

Mother's Day Mug

Here is a cute and simple idea for a gift for Mother's Day. It would be prefect for a hot tea drinker. I added a paper rose to a simple tag which is attached to a cello bag filled with a variety of tea bags and placed inside a mug that I etched the word mom onto.

I guess you can kinda see the etching!

Stamps: Well Scripted
Paper: Sweet Pea DSP, Rose Red, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla
Punches: Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch
Accessories: Rose Red grosgrain ribbon
Die Cuts: Frame Oval Scallop, Floral Fusion, Little Leaves and Alphabet Simple Letters

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a fabulous day!

Everything is Coming Up Roses!

I have been so inspired by roses lately because when you look outside to my back patio all I see is roses. It is the beginning of the first bloom of Spring. It seems like every branch has a bloom on it ready to open. Sorry that it is so hard to tell this by the picture.

I was so excited when I saw the new Island Floral Bigz Die in the new summer mini catalog. A flower shape just like the one on the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch only bigger... I can make a bigger roses! WOW WEE I thought, it was the first thing on my list.

Since Mother's Day is coming up I wanted to focus on doing a few projects towards that. I found these unfinished wooden frames at Michaels craft store, Decoupaged Bella Bleu DSP on it, added two roses and a bud. Notice the different size rose? The one on the left along with the bud is done with the "Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch" and the one on the right is done with the Island Floral Bigz Die.

Here are two close ups one from the front and one from the side

Sorry this die is not available to non-demonstrators until May 1st in the "Summer Mini Catalog". Make sure you get your hands on this one!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a fabulous day!

Spring Break Celebration

What can be better than "Blog Candy" to celebrate spring break. Not only a celebration of spring, but also of families coming together to celebrate Easter with great food. I am going to share with you a fabulous appetizer recipe that I make often and it is a hit every time. Don't let the ingredients deter you, when these flavors come together it is a party in your mouth.

1 8oz package of cream cheese (softened)
1 garlic clove chopped or pressed
1 cup grated swiss cheese
4-8 oz imitation crab
3/4 cup bottled sweet and sour sauce
1/4 cup chopped almonds
1/4 cup chopped green onions

Combine the first 3 ingredients and spread evenly in a 8x8 baking dish.
Top with imitation crab, sweet and sour sauce, almond and green onions
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until bubbly.
You can serve with fried wontons or crackers (wontons taste better)
(this recipe came from Pampered Chef)

So for your next get together serve this and leave me a comment of what you think of the recipe or just leave me a general comment for a chance to win a some blog candy. I will be giving away everything to make 6 of the "Hello Card" that is on my March 16th post using "Hello Again" stamp set, except ink, adhesive, punches and scissors. I will randomly pick a winner on Monday April 12th. I will only ship to the US. Winner has 24 hours to e-mail me an address to send this prize.

I will be away from blogging to celebrate my family and the time we have together during Spring Break.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a fabulous day!
